This weeks challenge at Joan's Garden is to create a card using an oval, use vellum and polka dots.
Here's my card:
The Polka Dot background and the tag are both from Impression Obsession. The folder is from Darice. I used the folder twice; once on the vellum and then also on the Brown cardstock, which I sanded. The Oval is from Spellbinders. For more challenge cards and to shop Joan's products go to:

IO Hobby Challenge
Impression Obsession has a Hobby Challenge this week. Ofcourse, it would be so obvious to do papercrafts or stamping. But, I decided to do a reading hobby as I am an avid reader. I enjoy non fiction the most, but I also love fiction too. I just love a good book. I had foot surgery last fall and read twenty plus books. I'll list some of my favorites below. With all of the e-readers available you do not have to go to the library anymore. You can order books online. I can go to our library's website and read a little bit about the book I want to order. You can pull up all the best sellers and see what everyone else is reading. It's amazing. My two sisters are also avid readers and we let each other know when we come across a good book. Our library and several organizations around our small community have book fairs where you can purchase books very reasonably. So, heres my card in honor of books and those who love to read:
These stamps and products from IO were used: Cover-A-Card Book Shelves #CC152, Cover-A-Card Script #CC050, Outside of a Dog #E3594 and Floral Trio #B8929. For more challenge cards go to:

2. No Easy Day
3. American Sniper
4. A Lucky Child
5. The Secrets of Mary Bowser

#6 Challenge Joan's Garden
This is the 6th challenge at Joan's Garden. This week the challenge is to create an outdoors scene and make it a Birthday Card. We had a beautiful winter day here in Minnesota. The sun was out and it was almost 30 degrees. We have alot of snow and it would be a perfect day to cross country ski. I often do it around our property but I have a bum knee right now. Hope everyone is enjoying this winter and here's my card:
I put a Pine Tree folder through my Big Shot and then swiped it with Green dye ink at the top and Brown dye ink at the bottom. It was layered to a larger Brown panel and brads were attatched at the top. For You (Impression Obsession) was stamped in Green dye ink on a white word punch. It was all layered to another embossed folder with Pine Branch (Impression Obsession die) and Crisp Bows in Red (Memory Box). All was layered to a larger Green card. The bottom layer is a Cover-A-Card Pine Branches (Impression Obsession) stamped in Green and then layered to a folded White card.
Happy Winter.

# 5 Challenge Joan's Garden
Hello and Happy Sunday. We had a little snowstorm earlier today and now we are shoveled out and ready for another. Yeah! This weeks challenge at Joan's Garden is to create a white, blue and green card, use an oval and stamp a sentiment and a flower. Here's my card:
I used a Spellbinders oval to create the white and blue ovals. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado and stamped in blue. The two leaves are a die called Fresh Leaves and are from Memory Box. The branch to the right is a die also and called Solid Branch and is from Impression Obsession. All the other added elements including the photo corners are punches. I also used a Cuttlebug folder for the white card. White mini brads were added to the three flowers.
See you next week.

#4 Challenge at Joan's Garden
This weeks challenge is to make a Vintage card. And, no restrictions. Since they showed an example of a couple Valentine's Day cards I just decided I would to. Here's my card:
I started out stamping Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card Lace onto a full sheet of white cardstock using brown dye ink. Without reinking I stamped one more time onto the white cardstock. I made the Grand Heart (Memory Box die) with the lighter image and also two heart photo corners. The layer under the heart is from a heart folder (Cuddlebug) that I inked up with the same brown ink and put through my big shot machine. It was trimmed and layered to a darker brown card as was the Lace image. I also added some woven fabric beneath the heart along with some white and gold speckled twine. Mini white brads were added to the photo corners and bigger white brads were added to the Grand Heart and the white paper flower.
