#4 Challenge at Joan's Garden

This weeks challenge is to make a Vintage card. And, no restrictions. Since they showed an example of a couple Valentine's Day cards I just decided I would to. Here's my card:

I started out stamping Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card Lace onto a full sheet of white cardstock using brown dye ink. Without reinking I stamped one more time onto the white cardstock. I made the Grand Heart (Memory Box die) with the lighter image and also two heart photo corners. The layer under the heart is from a heart folder (Cuddlebug) that I inked up with the same brown ink and put through my big shot machine. It was trimmed and layered to a darker brown card as was the Lace image. I also added some woven fabric beneath the heart along with some white and gold speckled twine. Mini white brads were added to the photo corners and bigger white brads were added to the Grand Heart and the white paper flower.

#3 Joan's Challenge 2013

This weeks challenge at Joan's is to create a pink and white card. The card should have a heart and also we should use a border. Here's my card.

          The saying is from River City Rubber Works. The Grand White Heart and the Heart Chain Border are both Memory Box dies. The bow is from Fancy Ornament (Impression Obsession die) and the other heart I punched out. I used a Heart Folder and swiped it with pink ink and put through my Big Shot with white cardstock. The heart, bow and layers are all pinkish design paper. I also used a heart doily which was a boughten item.

#2 Challenge at Joan's Garden 2013

This weeks challenge at Joan's Garden is to create a card using purple, aqua and light green. The card should also be a tent card and have something from nature. This is what I came up with:

                                                               The purple heart, candles and background aqua cover-a-card are all from Impression Obsession. The light green piece is a stamp from Memory Box. The Butterfly dies are from Memory Box also. The top piece is a Paisley Folder that I swiped with purple ink and then ran through my Big Shot. I also added a white Oval die and a white circle that I also put through the same folder. White punched out photo corners are mounted at two opposite corners and the other two corners were corner notched.
Hope everyone is having a nice winter and staying away from the flu. It hit me last week-stomach flu. I was so sick I wondered if I had food poisoning! Today in Minnesota they are predicting a minus 38 in the afternoon. Hope that kills all the flu bugs! Stay warm. And also go to Joan's site to see her products and other challenge cards.

IO Sweet Thoughts Challenge

This weeks challenge at Impression Obsession is called Sweet Thoughts. Besides the challenges being fun you can win $25 if your name is drawn. Here's my card:

   

To make this card I used these IO stamps: Coffee Mug #B4307, Sm. Emb. Butterfly C8259 and Thinking of You #C1143.
I started my card using a folder I colored with pink and put through my Big Shot embossing machine. I trimmed and then mounted this card to a larger Teal card and then a larger Pink card. They were all layered to a folded White card. I put a strip of light Pink cardstock across the center which has three brads inserted and a stick-on button to the left. I stamped Thinking of you on a narrower and darker Pink strip using Black dye ink and layered this on top of the lighter Pink strip. I stamped eight Coffee Mugs onto white cardstock using Black dye ink and cut out all. Five of the Coffee Mugs have a punched out Teal heart and the letters "SWEET" on them. They are all mounted in a row at the bottom of the card. The other three mugs are mounted at the top. I stamped two Butterflies, cut out and also mounted them as shown. A Pink paper flower was also added to the card.

#1 Challenge at Joan's Garden 2013

This is the first challenge at Joan's Garden in 2013. The challenge is to make a blue and white card, use four die corners, make it a thank-you card and add flowers. Here's the card:

I used two dies for this card and both are from Memory Box. They are the Madera corner which I trimmed up in several places and also the Grand Heart. I used a left over piece from the corner die underneath the "thanks" (A Muse stamps) and also added a white circle. The three blue flowers I punched out and added little white brads.
